Once again, the School of A/V Technologies has proven to be a valuable training event for A/V professionals in the UK. Extron has made it a priority to bring training to resellers in various regions, and the latest two classes were held in Glasgow and Manchester. Both events were well-attended with 35 and 42 participants, respectively.

The School of A/V Technologies is a one-day training class for A/V system designers, engineers, design engineers, and experienced systems salespeople.

The first of the two classes took place on June 30 at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel in Glasgow, and the second class took place on July 2 at the Mercure Norton Grange Hotel and Spa in Manchester. A variety of topics were addressed, including Digital Video Signals, Fiber Optics: A/V at the Speed of Light, Twisted Pair Integration, Video Image Processing, and Centralized Control and Management with IP Link® and GlobalViewer® Enterprise.

"The content, pace, and presentation were spot on, as expected, and appreciated by us all," said one enthusiastic seminar attendee. "The demonstration of the touchpanel and configuration software was an added bonus and something that we are keen to look into further."

The School of A/V Technologies for System Designers builds upon the existing knowledge of A/V professionals by exploring new concepts, techniques, technologies, tools, and applications. System designers who complete this one-day school attain a thorough understanding of various A/V system features, and this knowledge is then applied in hands-on simulations in which participants are tasked with the planning and execution of real-world A/V scenarios. Upon conclusion of the school, participants are required to complete a comprehensive exam.
